01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
03 - Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
04 - In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
05 - Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
06 - Divide dough in half, wrap in plastic, and chill for at least 30 minutes if possible to facilitate rolling.
07 - Roll dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/2 inch thickness.
